5 fun-filled bonfire night activities

Remember, remember the fifth of November…

Bonfire night is just so fun! Cold nights, mushy peas, sparklers and fireworks…bring it on!

This year, I decided I wanted to do some bonfire night themed activities with Stanley and it was literally SO much fun! Here’s what we got up to…

1. Bonfire hand painting

This was one that definitely didn’t look like the Pinterest perfect versions, but I absolutely love the effect! I literally painted Stanley’s hand with yellow and gold paint etc and got him to push his hand onto the paper. I then painted the bottom to look like twigs. The older or more co-operative the little human the better these could look I guess, hahaha. But I love our little bonfire creation!

2. Edible sparklers

The humble breadstick is a winnner again! I literally coated the breadstick in melted milkybar chocolate. Then Stanley covered them in sprinkles…and just like that you’ve got delicious edible sparklers!!

3. Firework biscuits

This didn’t entirely go as planned because the icing was harder to squeeze out the tubes than I thought, which meant Stanley couldn’t do it by himself. But I squeezed the tube while he was holding it so he thought he was doing it – and he bloody loved it, ha!! And yet again he loved chucking a s**t load of sparklers all over them to make them look like pretty fireworks!

4. Fireworks painting

Another super easy, albeit messy, painting activity! If you get the middle of a toilet roll and cut all the way round one edge, fold the slits outwards and you’ve essentially got a large paper fan brush. Then all you need to do is dip the ‘brush’ into your chosen paint and almost stamp it onto the paper. The more the colours mix the more firework-like your painting! Stanley bloody LOVED doing this and kept handing me the ‘brush’ and saying more. I absolutely love his firework creation! All the heart eyes! And I kept saying to him what does a firework do and he says “bang bang” – too friggin cute!

5. Rocket firework fruit sticks

Easy peasy, and perfect if you’re having a little bonfire party. Literally I bought some toothpicks and placed the fruit on them (I cut them in half daddy because Stanley’s little but you don’t necessarily have to if you’ve got older kids). I also bought a pack of party blowers (f**k knows the really name, pahahaha) and pushed the bottom of the tooth pick into the mouth piece to look like more like a firework! Also, I’d just like to put it out there…Stanley did NOT help with this one, he was too busy eating the fruit and then he found the biscuits from before and it was all game over, haha!

There you have it. 5 easy but super fun bonfire night themed activities! I would love it if you tagged me in your pics over on Instagram if you give any of these a go and I hope you have an amazing bonfire night!!
