When you have kids, it can be really tough to find any time just for yourself. You know, time when you aren’t interrupted every five seconds with “Muuuuuuuum?” In fact, having such time can be a really restorative and relaxing exercise for mums, something that can allow you to come back to the family unit refreshed and rejuvenated. That is why I have come up with some fab idea of things that you can do when you are looking for a little me time as a mom.
One fantastic way to crowbar some time for yourself into your days is to find a fun exercise class or gym session to attend. The great things about these are that many have creches as well, which means you can participate even if there is no one else to look after little one available.
An exercise class can make excellent me time.
Of course, there is a vast selection of classes to choose from including aerobics, yoga, & CrossFit. You may even wish to skip the gym entirely and find a dance class run locally by a dance school. A place where you can not only get fit and have some me time but learn one of the formal dance traditions such a Merengue or ballroom as well.
Alternatively, you may wish to find some time for yourself by taking up a creative pursuit such as painting, sketching, or sculpting. The advantage of this is that it can be done either in the home or outside, depending on what suits you best.
To pursue your creativity as me time in the home you will need to buy the supplies and then follow tutorials online like the ones on Youtube or Craftsy. Although you can also just creatively explore your own ideas. Alternatively, you may wish to enrol in a class, something that can work as a nice regular break outside of the home as well.

For many of us, especially those that are introverted reading is a fantastic way of getting some time for ourselves. After all, when you are wholly immersed in a good book you can really lose yourself and feel as if you are somewhere, and even someone else entirely.
Once again reading is a convenient me time activity because it does not require child care, and can be done when the little ones are having a nap, quietly playing, or have gone to bed for the evening.
Although, if you want to add an outside of the house aspect to it, why not join a local book club? A place where you can get together with friends and discuss a particular book that you have all read that month.
Some time to relax
Sometimes what you really need as a mum is to do nothing, and what better way to relax and rejuvenate entirely than treating yourself to a spa day with a treatment? Of course, if that just isn’t possible economically or due to time, a nice warm bath with your favourite bath salts and a decent glass of wine can also do the trick; in a pinch!
