Autumn books for toddlers

Autumn reading list for my 18 month old…

Stanley absolutely loves ‘reading’ his books and it’s a habit I really want to encourage more and more as he gets older. I thought it would be a fun idea to do a little mini autumn/Halloween book collection for him. It means new fun books and also learning some new things!

Autumn books are surprisingly tricky to find – wait till my winter version of this post though – there’s LOADS on my list for that one!!! But, for now, here’s what’s on Stanley’s autumn ‘reading list’!

Autumn books for toddlers

Room on the broom…

A classic! Bringing some Halloween vibes into the collection.

Let It Fall…

A random Amazon find! This book literally cost me £1.20!! I genuinely expected it to be terrible but it’s a proper board book, and the pictures are really nice and bright! It’s just fab for autumn afternoons!

The Gruffalo…

I love this book, but believe it or not it’s one that’s been missing from Stanley’s collection – until now! As soon as I see the cover I think of autumn walks so I DEFINATELY had to add this one into his little collection. This was in a 3 for £5 deal in The Works. I got the next book and one for his winter collection in the deal!

Four Silly Skeletons…

This was the other book in the deal I got in The Works. 3 for £5 – such a bargain and there’s SO many books to choose from too! This just looked like a fun little Halloween addition. The colours and contrast is great and really held Stanley’s attention!

Pop-up Peekaboo Pumpkin…

I got this one from Waterstones. It’s just a fun lift the flap pop-up book. Stanley loves lift the flap books and the pop up was definitely a winner! I mean, you really can’t go wrong with a pop-up surprise book right?!

This is another bargain book I found on Amazon. I wasn’t sure how good it would be but I absolutely love the illustrations. It’s really nice and the colours are just perfect! I’m glad I found this one in my search!

So that’s it! I really enjoyed finding him some new books and doing a little themed mini haul! I’ll be doing another winter/Christmas one soon so keep your eyes peeled!

In the mean time, get cosy and enjoy ALL the autumnal vibes!! And if you’ve got any other favourite autumn/Halloween books let me know in the comments section!!
