Five things linky – June

I can’t believe it’s time for a whole new #fivethingslinky already! The last month has flown by! Don’t forget if you want to join in head here to find out how!

So…here’s five things I loved in June…

1. I did my make-up in peace…

I had a couple of hours one morning to myself, before heading out for my sister’s birthday lunch at the beginning of the month and I actually got to sit at my dressing table in peace. I did my make-up and hair properly and I remembered how much I actually love to do make-up!

2. I got new shelves in my living room…

Yes it might make me sound boring but I LOVE them! They instantly made the room feel more homely and gave me a new spot to faff with and play around with accessories which I love. They’re from Ikea if anyone wanted to know! I’m now on the hunt for some faux eucalyptus to go in the grey vase. If anyone knows where I can find some hit me up please!!

3. West Midlands Safari Park…

We went there as an early Father’s Day present for Stanley’s daddy, but forget them! I had the best day, ha! I absolutely love it there and if I lived closer I honestly think I’d be there every weekend! If you’ve never been I would so recommend it. We travel from the East Midlands so it’s a bit of a drive but it is SO worth it! I mean, this guy had his head in the window licking my hand, haha!!

4. Spa day…

Yes, you heard me! I had a spa day! A whole entire day of no chores, no responsibilities and just pure selfish relaxation. It was amazing! I had such an incredible day. I went totally alone, which is a big deal for me as I used to get really self-conscious by myself, but I enjoyed the alone time and quiet. I enjoyed being able to do whatever I wanted. I sauntered around the pool, had a swim, sat in the steam rooms until I was practically a puddle on the floor. I also had the best back and shoulder massage ever. Then I devoured an afternoon tea and went back to the pool! What a day, something else I wish I could do every month, ha!

5. Blog success…

My blog has gone from strength to strength this month. It was my first full month of being self-hosted and I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved. You can read more about my goals here, but it’s definitely something I’ve loved in June. I got my first sponsored post with a brand too, which I’m so proud of.

Blogging goals July, planning and reaching goals as a blogger. First month blog success

I said it last month, but I honestly love writing my post for #fivethingslinky! It’s so nice to sit down and be thankful for the positive things that have happened in the last month. June was a great month, let’s see what July holds!

My favourite guest posts from last month…

Each month Rachael and myself will display our favourite posts from those who joined in with the linky last month. Here are my favourite 3 from last month…

1. Dear Mummy Bear…

The Greatest Showman
So I’ve got specifics yeah. In the month of May, The Greatest Showman was released on DVD. The day it came out, I saw it in my local Sainsbury’s store for £10 and couldn’t resist grabbing it. I’d watched it once previously and I absolutely adored it. But watching it again (and again and again) just makes me so happy. Hugh Jackman AND Zac Efron in the same film, singing and me able to swoon over them both. And the soundtrack. My goodness, the soundtrack! I have added some of my favourite tracks to my playlist I just love belting it out in the car (hopefully nobody has seen or heard me haha!) It’s on Amazon also if you want to get it, you really should watch it, I highly recommend!”

I have to agree – I absolutely LOVE the Greatest Showman! I’ve watched it so many times – definitely a new favourite!!

2. Prosecco Mum…

“Getting back into blogging
I’ve always blogged just as and when really, but getting involved in more bloggers hubs and generally being more interactive on Twitter and Instagram has given me a new buzz to blog. So, this month I’ve written more, published more and I’m generally just loving writing again – the ‘blogging community’ is a really supportive one and one that I really enjoy being a part of.”

This made me really happy. I absolutely love Jess at Prosecco Mum so I was really pleased to see she had her blogging mojo back!

3. Oh Luna…

Coffee over ice
Lastly as it has been super sunny and warm I’ve been waking up and having a cold coffee in the mornings. It took me years to be able to stand a mid warm coffee. Am I the only one who doesn’t like hot drinks?! But I love coffee over ice and I make it really quick and simple. It’s just so refreshing first thing in the morning!”

I absolutely LOVE iced coffees! I make my own at home too. I also like to make them with coconut milk sometimes, it’s such a refreshing taste – so perfect for summer!

It’s so easy to fall out of the routine of doing your makeup. When you get back into it, you instantly regret not dedicating time to it! XOXO.

  2. You’ve been amazing with your blog this month! I’ve enjoyed reading every single post, I can’t wait for the ones to come in July! I always find when I’ve done my make up nice I feel so much happier. I put lashes on for my birthday and I felt so confident all day (except when I got home and realised one of them was half hanging off lmao but in my defence I put them on at 6.45am and got home about 9pm) xx
