I’ve recently moved into a new flat, and so Stanley has got a new nursery and I’ve tried to make it less ‘baby’ and more ‘toddler’. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m aiming to go for more of a monochrome theme with a hint of blue in there too. This is what it looks like at the moment.
I’ve chosen the style so its easier to transition to a proper little toddler bedroom later. I’m nowhere near ready to transfer Stanley into a proper bed just yet, but I’m convinced it’s not going to be long before he’s trying to climb out! 🙁 so I thought I’d do a little lust list of a few things I’d love to have in his bedroom when the time does come.
I absolutely LOVE these quirky toddler beds. I think they’re amazing and add so much character to a room. The teepee style one is my favourite and I think it would match his room so well. (I found these images through searching on Google, the house shaped one is from a site called casaeshome, the teepee one is from a site called Minimaison).
While I do love them, the price tag that comes with them can be enough to make your eyes water. I also think, being so low to the ground is asking for trouble – Stanley would definitely be in and out and playing if it was that easy to get out of! I think when the time comes to move Stanley into a ‘big boy bed’ (which FYI makes me want to cry just thinking about it!) it’ll probably be more simple, like this one (which is from Wayfair).
I’d love a personalised toy box for him to keep all of his soft toys in neatly and where he can still get to them easily. I had this on his Christmas wish list, but didn’t manage to get hold of one. It’s definitely still something I’d like to get him…maybe next Christmas, haha!
I’m desperate to get him one of these wooden kitchens from Ikea, and do a little hack with it and personalise it all.
I think Stanley is at an age now where he is really starting to get into imaginative play and I think he’d love something like this…and I can get him trained up to make me breakfast in bed, which can’t be a bad thing right?!
Are you planning a toddler bedroom? I’d love to hear what plans you have!
